Availability:
Tuesday, Friday, Weekends. The Playroom Associates are zealous about cultivating a quality childcare program for the members of Altea Active and our community. They create a clean, safe, and nurturing environment for children ranging from six weeks of age to 12 years old that address each child's unique needs, while effectively communicating with parents. They have a passion for being creative by developing play-based, age-appropriate activities while ensuring overall health, safety, and the well-being of all children in their care.
These nurturing folks take pride in creating relationships with parents and children while being mindful and respectful of individual differences. They offer a positive, welcoming environment that delivers fun, enriching and socially engaging activities that stimulate children.
These problem solvers, plan and carry out experiences that foster an understanding of a variety of cultures and value systems. They lead daily activities in harmony with the centre’s philosophy. They observe child interactions in order to expand play and plan activities. They ensure guidance of children’s behaviour that encourages positive guidelines such as redirecting, positive language and positive reinforcement.
Responsibilities- Manage daily activities and interactions to foster development and safety in a childcare setting.
- Plan, carry out, and assess developmentally appropriate activities in harmony with the centre’s philosophy.
- Observe children’s interactions, expand play opportunities, and plan activities that recognize individual differences.
- Guide children’s behavior with positive language, redirection, and positive reinforcement.
- Meet and greet families, communicate effectively with parents, and build trust.
- Ensure the child’s environment is healthy and safe; maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
- Coordinate check-ins, registrations, and payments using the software system.
- Post-secondary education relating to early childhood education, child development, elementary education, or special education; additional certifications are an asset.
- Workshops relating to child care are an asset.
- Experience working with children from six weeks old to 12 years old is required.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification prior to start date and maintained throughout employment.
- Recent Criminal Background Check (Vulnerable Sector) prior to commencement of training and/or work.
