We are seeking a motivated and customer‑focused Seasonal Shipping Consultant to join our Shipping team in Steinbach. This seasonal position will start at the beginning of April and run through September (with potential to extend or recall based on business demand). Reporting to the Shipping Supervisor, this role supports the coordination of customer orders, deliveries, and shipping logistics while promoting Barkman’s People, Quality, and Capacity culture.

Quality: Providing accurate, timely communication regarding product availability, delivery schedules, and order details to support a strong customer experience.
Capacity: Supporting smooth shipping operations by prioritizing orders, coordinating deliveries, and helping manage peak-season demand.
Your day at Barkman may include:- Consult with contractors and dealers by phone and email regarding orders, availability of product, and delivery schedules.
- Organize and prioritize customer orders based on location and required delivery dates.
- Coordinate with Sales, Production, Purchasing, Customer Service, and Shipping team members regarding stock levels and order readiness.
- Arrange courier deliveries and communicate shipping details to customers and transport providers.
- Support compliance with transportation and safety rules and policies for employees and visitors.
- Complete general office and team support tasks including filing, matching invoices, and shipping documentation.
- Assist Inside Sales when time allows to support customer service during peak periods.
- Ability to work extended shifts (including regular overtime) during peak seasonal demand.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with confidence communicating with customers, trucking companies, load brokers, and Sales teams.
- Good computer skills including experience with Excel, Outlook, and data entry.
- Strong organisation, multitasking, and time management skills in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to occasionally perform light‑to‑moderate physical tasks, including assisting walk‑in customers with product.
- Knowledge of the transportation or logistics industry considered an asset.
