POSITION SUMMARY
Manitoba Blue Cross is a leader in health and wellness in Manitoba. Working in a team environment, as well as using their own judgment and problem-solving skills, the Community Ambassador - Summer Students are responsible for supporting our organization and community through the development and participation in various wellness initiatives. This includes representing Manitoba Blue Cross at various community and corporate events, as well as performing administrative office duties to support the Community Relations Department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Represents Manitoba Blue Cross Community Relations Team at a variety of community events, including golf tournaments, festivals, and fairs.
- Assists with information booths, including the distribution of appropriate educational materials at community events.
- Provide a high level of professionalism and customer service to community members, internal and external groups, and volunteers.
- Promotes and supports the six dimensions of wellness by integrating wellness-focused practices, resources, and initiatives into engagement activities.
- Documents events and other activities for statistics as necessary.
- Prepares written reports on events and other activities for data entry as necessary.
- Participates in the set-up and tear-down of activities, including the transportation of materials and equipment as required.
- Provides feedback to leadership regarding event activities and execution and identifies sponsorship requirements.
- Assist with the development of Community Relations-related content for website, blog post, etc.
- Comfortable delivering presentations and speaking to diverse audiences in a clear, engaging, and professional manner.
- Conducts inventory tracking and manages inventory data to ensure accurate records, reporting, and replenishment planning.
- Provides administrative support to the Community Relations Team and performs general office work associated with department initiatives.
- Identifies opportunities for process and information management improvement and recommends changes as appropriate.
- Creates positive, respectful, and engaging interactions with children, seniors, and diverse audiences, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive experience for all participants.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
