We are seeking a part‑time detail‑oriented Payroll Assistant to support our property management portfolio. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate payroll processing for on‑site and head office staff.
The successful candidate will thrive in a fast‑paced, multi‑property environment and demonstrate a high level of confidentiality, accuracy, and organization.
Key Responsibilities Payroll Support- Assist with the processing of payroll for property‑based, head office and field employees (e.g., caretakers, maintenance staff, administrators)
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, job changes, and deductions
- Support payroll reconciliations, remittances, and year‑end activities (T4s, ROEs as required)
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies
- Ensure payroll compliance with employment standards and applicable legislation
- Enter and verify timesheets, pay rates, deductions, and adjustments
- Maintain accurate payroll and employee records
- Assist with payroll reports, audits, and reconciliations
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in accounting, business, or related field preferred
- 1–2 years of payroll, accounting, or administrative experience preferred
- Knowledge of payroll legislation and statutory deductions
- Proficiency with payroll systems and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism
