Company Description

Since 1982, the Treaty and Aboriginal Rights Research Centre of Manitoba, Inc. (T.A.R.R.) has provided research and support services to Manitoba First Nations. The organization focuses on First Nation history, Indian Trust Funds, and land claims, including historical research and technical support for Treaty land entitlement issues. Other areas of work include treaty rights related to hunting, fishing, trapping, and gathering as well as advocacy for claims policy reform.

T.A.R.R. is dedicated to serving its member First Nations and addressing critical issues related to indigenous histories and rights.

Role Description

This is a contract role located in Winnipeg, MB, for an Executive Assistant. The Executive Assistant will provide executive-level administrative support, manage daily schedules and communications, and handle expense reports. Duties include organizing meetings, maintaining records, and performing other administrative tasks to ensure efficient office operations. The position requires a proactive attitude and a high degree of confidentiality while supporting the organization's leadership and mission.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience in Executive Administrative Assistance and Administrative Assistance roles
  • Proficiency in preparing and managing Expense Reports
  • Strong skills in Executive Support and effectively managing executive-level communication
  • Excellent written and verbal Communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and general technology tools
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Post-secondary education in business administration or a related field is an asset
