About the Role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and motivated Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support the accounting department with daily financial reviews, reconciliations, and reporting, while ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles. This role is perfect for someone early in their accounting career who is eager to learn and grow in a fast‑paced environment. We would also like this person to help with controller‑type responsibilities from a cash planning, budgeting, and forecasting perspective.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee bookkeeping, day‑to‑day transactions and ensuring items are recorded in the correct budget line.
  • Assist with expense reimbursements.
  • Oversee and review accounting related worksheets like prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities and asset amortization schedules.
  • Assist with payroll and related benefit transactions.
  • Assist with month‑end reconciliation including adjusting entries, provincial tax filings and reviewing the financials for completeness and accuracy.
  • Support the preparation of quarterly financial statements.
  • Assist in budget tracking and variance analysis.
  • Help with product costing and ensuring COGS are accurately recorded and reviewed regularly.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Oversee to make sure we have accurate and up‑to‑date financial records and documentation.
  • Support audit preparation and respond to auditor requests when needed.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure proper financial reporting at month‑end reconciliation.
  • Perform other administrative and accounting duties as assigned.
  • Help with ERP work once implemented in 2026.

Who You Are:

  • Degree or diploma in accounting
  • 3‑5 years of accounting experience in an entry‑level accounting role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience in Quick Books
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Self‑starter who’s eager to learn and grow
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
