The Lead - Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for the timely and accurate payments to suppliers for goods and services acquired for the Shared Health’s operations, for creating and maintaining Vendor master information, and for providing information about payables and payments for reporting purposes.
Experience- Minimum 3 years experience within the last 5 years in a computerized accounting environment, preferably in an Accounts Payable healthcare environment.
- Completion of high school education, Manitoba standards required.
- Completion of Business/Accounting diploma from a recognized business college within the last 8 years required.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Training courses such as telephone collection seminars an asset.
- Typing minimum 50 wpm required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required.
- Knowledge of General Accounting concepts and account coding required.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in the English language.
- Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills; self‑motivated, naturally assertive and persuasive.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
An employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions in Shared Health that combine to equal more than 1.0 FTE.
SalarySalary is commensurate with education and qualifications.
