Job Summary:

We are seeking heavy equipment operators to work in a team-oriented, safety-first environment.
*
* Job Description:

**** Essential Duties:
*** Operate heavy earth-moving equipment, such as dozers, excavators, loaders, mining trucks, scrapers and more in all aspects of mining.
* Perform proper equipment startup and shutdown procedures along with daily servicing of equipment.
* Operate within the acceptable range of design capabilities of the equipment, aided by instrumentation gauges and indicators.
* Perform all job duties in accordance with MSHA laws and regulations, established company safety policies and state and federal environmental regulations in a safe and efficient manner consistent with North American Mining standards.
* Practice defensive driving and equipment operation at all times.
** Other Duties:
*** Work with other equipment operators in a safe and organized manner and within established traffic plans.
* Assist in water management, construction, labor, and maintenance activities as necessary.
* Perform utility work and operate utility equipment.
* Assist the maintenance department with routine repairs.
* Keep the supervisor informed of any potential problems.
* Other duties as assigned.
** Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
*** Possess basic mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment to assess condition and prevent damage.
* Operate equipment properly within tolerances.
* Assist with the preventative maintenance and servicing as needed.
* Ability to work with GPS units in the equipment.
* Knowledge and ability to respond to emergencies and unpredictable situations.
* Ability to recognize unsafe and adverse conditions and the knowledge to correct or report them.
* Ability and willingness to work rotating shifts up to 12 hours per shift, night shifts and weekends.
** Education and Training:
*** High school diploma or GED. Relevant experience may be substituted.
* Two years of experience operating heavy off-road construction equipment is a plus.
