Job Description:

The Food Services Worker reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and regulatory and accreditation standards.

• Prepares cold food items for patients and cafeteria; assists in related support activities.
• Take room service orders including employee, patient, family initiated orders and those patients needing assistance.
• Complete tray assembly and data entry as required (e.g., Microsoft Excel).
• Ensure food meets safety and sanitary regulations; complete required documentation.
• Basic cash handling; maintain a safe, clean, neat, and orderly cooking area.
• Adhere to department policies and programs; provide high quality service and problem resolution as needed.
• Complete daily position checklists, cleaning duties, and all required documentation; participate in mandatory in-service trainings and health requirements.
• Washes and sanitizes all food service equipment; restocks and stores items using FIFO method.
• Demonstrates ability to exercise independent judgment in times of need.
• Cleans and sanitizes cafeteria service items and work areas; operates and cleans dish machine; sanitizes food service carts.

Required:

• Excellent customer service and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
• Physical Demands:
• Lift/carry up to 12 pounds; push/pull up to 50 pounds

Preferred:

• One year of customer service experience
• Familiar with diet restrictions
