Overview

The salary range for this position is $27.99 - $36.39 (Hourly Rate). Placement within the range depends on relevant work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the range is guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

Description

The Physical Therapy Assistant position reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and regulatory standards.

  • A licensed physical therapist assistant who complies with the Code of Ethics/Standards of Practice as outlined by their professional organization and by the State of Illinois.
  • This position includes direct patient care, teaching, participation on appropriate committees and departmental process improvement.
  • Serves as a role model for all therapists and clinical interns in professional, clinical, communication, education and leadership activities.
Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates the four NM values of teamwork, patients first, integrity, and excellence in daily work and interactions.
  • Provides friendly, professional demeanor and appearance; delivers accurate information and timely updates to patients and customers.
  • Addresses questions and concerns promptly or directs to appropriate resources; provides directions to help patients and customers
  • Uses effective service recovery skills to resolve problems or service breakdowns
  • Demonstrates teamwork across departments; communicates effectively, respects diverse opinions, and acknowledges contributions
  • Uses organizational and unit resources efficiently; manages work schedule to complete tasks on time
  • Contributes to continuous improvement and efforts to reduce costs and streamline processes
  • Adapts treatment and documents outcomes; collaborates with PT to manage course of care from initial contact to discharge
  • Adheres to department policy regarding documentation; all notes entered into the EMR; completes daily notes reflecting patient progress
  • Provides educational materials appropriate to patient level of understanding
  • Participates in committees and department projects; develops professional relationships with healthcare team members
  • Maintains productivity standards and willingness to adjust schedule as needed
Qualifications

Required:

  • Associates Degree in Physical Therapist Assistant Program
  • BLS from American Heart Association on hire
  • Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Illinois

Preferred:

  • 1+ year of inpatient rehab experience

This full-time role is for 36 hours per week with an expected schedule of 4-9 hour days.
