Description
The Development Coordinator - Labs reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Memorial Healthcare, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
Under the direction of the manager, the Development Coordinator has the authority and accountability for the development and implementation of state‑of‑the‑art testing in the laboratory. This position works with pathologists and physician specialists to coordinate assessment, development, evaluation, training and implementation of new technology and new testing in the Laboratory. Other responsibilities include maintaining the highest degree of expertise in new technology, maintaining, and providing current information on technology and methodology through attendance at professional, association and scientific meetings, maintaining continual dialogue with scientists and vendors.
Responsibilities- SECTION COORDINATION
- Develops and writes standard operating procedures for new testing
- Participates in laboratory information system (LIS) build for new tests
- Develops, writes, and executes/oversees validation plans/summaries for new testing
- Develops technical and workflow structure for new testing
- Develops and maintains relationships with all customers and suppliers
- Instructs laboratory staff in the section on new methods and instrumentation уже

- Coordinates and develops maintenance protocols for new instrumentation
- Coordinates and performs advanced troubleshooting and repair. Calls for outside service when necessary

- Supports clinical quality management activities
- Bachelor’s degree in medical technology/clinical or medical laboratory science or chemical, physical, or biological science to qualify the individual as Testing Personnel under the CLIA ‘88 regulations. Five or more years of experience in a laboratory of the applicable discipline.
- Prefer certified through Board of Registry, ASCP or equivalent.
