Salary: $16.50 – $20.63 per hour (placement within the range depends on experience, internal equity, and union rules if applicable).

Casual Position: Hours per week are not guaranteed.

Schedule: Every other weekend. Start times 6:30 AM – 7:15 AM, end times 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM. 12‑hour shifts.

Watch staff talking about this role:

• Prepare cold food items for patients and the cafeteria.
• Take Room Service orders, including employee, patient, and family initiated orders and orders for patients needing assistance.
• Complete tray assembly.
• Ensure food meets all safety and sanitary regulations and complete all required documentation.
• Data entry using Microsoft Excel.
• Basic cash handling.
• Maintain a safe, clean, neat, and orderly cooking area.
• Adhere to all department policies and programs.
• Use problem‑resolution skills to ensure satisfaction in quality and service.
• Complete daily position checklists, cleaning duties, and all required documentation.
• Complete mandatory in‑service trainings and meet employee health requirements.
• Wash and sanitize all food service equipment used for patients and cafeteria service.
• Replace items to their proper place of storage.
• Demonstrate ability to exercise independent judgment when needed.
• Assist with putting away stock using FIFO (first‑in, first‑out) method.
• Cleans and sanitizes cafeteria service items.
• Cleans dish machine at end of shift.
• Cleans and sanitizes work area.
• Cleans and sanitizes food service carts.

• Excellent customer service and critical‑thinking skills.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Physical Demands: lift/carry up to 12 pounds; push/pull force up to 50 pounds.

• One‑year customer‑service experience.
• Familiar with diet restrictions.
