Brief Role SummaryThe Production Supervisor is the on-site operational leader responsible for the day-to-day performance of our Alabama plant. Reporting to the Operations Manager (remote), this role owns production execution, team leadership, scheduling, inventory coordination, and customer service outcomes. This leader ensures safety, quality, and productivity goals are consistently met while proactively planning materials, prioritizing work, and removing roadblocks so the plant runs smoothly.
Success in this role comes from strong people leadership, operational discipline, and the ability to balance daily execution with continuous improvement.
- Lead daily plant operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets
- Supervise and support 20+ associates; clearly define roles, expectations, and priorities
- Plan and prioritize daily and weekly production schedules to meet customer demand
- Coordinate staffing, overtime, and workflow to maximize efficiency
- Serve as the primary on-site decision maker and point of contact for plant performance
- Develop production plans aligned with sales forecasts and service objectives
- Order and manage internal materials to ensure uninterrupted production
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate inventory control processes
- Coordinate closely with Inside Sales, Manufacturing, and Shipping/Receiving
- Execute daily reporting and analysis within Excel and the MRP/ERP system
- Maintain a safe work environment and ensure OSHA and company compliance
- Enforce company policies consistently and fairly
- Lead root-cause investigations and implement corrective actions
- Support lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Identify process improvements that enhance efficiency, quality, and accuracy
- Approve timekeeping, payroll adjustments, and overtime
- Provide coaching, feedback, and performance management
- Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture
- Partner with HR and leadership on employee engagement and development
