Job Overview
You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality products to customers while maintaining impeccable standards in food hygiene, counter presentation and customer interaction. This is a largely customer-facing role within a supportive, experienced team.
Key Responsibilities- Cutting and preparing meat for the counter, including de-boning and sausage making
- Keeping counters fully stocked and ensuring proper labelling and rotation
- Completing HACCP paperwork and conducting product intake spot checks
- Delivering outstanding customer service and supporting marketing initiatives
- Managing stock transfers, wastage sheets, and accurate stock takes
- Advising customers with up-to-date product knowledge to maximise sales
- Maintaining health and safety standards and reporting maintenance issues
- Supporting the overall operation and contributing to service improvements
- Following additive and preservative record protocols
- Responding appropriately to emergencies and evacuation procedures
- Taking on additional duties to support the wider Windsor Farm Shop team
- Proven butchery experience and advanced meat preparation knowledge
- Level 2 in Butchery or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations
- Excellent knife skills and butchering techniques
- Experience in a busy, customer-facing environment
- Confidence, friendliness, and approachability
- Flexibility and initiative to support wherever needed
- Effective problem‑solving and communication skills
- Organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in cold environments and lift heavy items
- Basic IT skills and valid food hygiene certification

40 hours per week, ranging between 7:00 AM–4:00 PM or 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, 5 days out of 7 (including one weekend day).
