Education and Training

We seek a dedicated and adaptable Primary Supply Teacher to support a range of schools across Windsor. This role involves delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to pupils in Key Stages 1 and 2, ensuring continuity of education during staff absences. The successful candidate works within the school’s curriculum framework and maintains a positive, engaging classroom environment.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging lessons that follow the school’s curriculum and meet the needs of all pupils.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively to create a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning development.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, behaviour, and academic achievement in line with school policy.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to suit different learning styles and abilities.
  • Collaborate with school staff to ensure smooth integration and continuity of teaching during supply assignments.
  • Uphold safeguarding policies and contribute to the welfare and safety of pupils at all times.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required by the school.
Qualifications
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) specialising in Primary Education or equivalent qualification.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognised in England.
Experience
  • Experience teaching pupils within the primary age range, ideally within Key Stages 1 and 2.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage classroom environments effectively.
  • Previous experience in supply teaching or working in varied school settings is advantageous.
Skills and Attributes
  • Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, suitable for working with children and school staff.
  • Ability to quickly build rapport with pupils and staff in new environments.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to adapt to changing timetables and school policies.
  • Competence in using educational technology and digital resources to support learning.
Additional Information
  • Experience or training in special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection legislation.
  • Additional training in behaviour management or pastoral care.
Role Logistics
  • The role involves working in multiple school settings across Windsor and surrounding areas.
  • Part-time hours with flexibility to cover short-notice assignments.
  • Work takes place during standard school hours, typically Monday to Friday.
  • Occasional requirement to participate in after-school activities or meetings may arise.
  • Regular travel between schools within the local area is necessary, so a driving licence and access to a vehicle are beneficial.
