The General Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the company
, working directly under the direction of the Owner. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for aligning people, processes, and performance across all divisions. The ideal candidate brings deep operational experience in commercial landscaping, construction/excavation, snow operations, a strong business mindset, and a passion for building systems that drive efficiency, accountability, and growth.
This role requires an early start (typically 6:00 AM
) to support field operations and may extend later into the afternoon or evening as business needs dictate. During the winter season, this position also requires being on call for snow and ice management operations
, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Lead and manage daily operations across Landscape Maintenance, Landscape Construction, Site Excavation, and Snow & Ice Management divisions
- Ensure consistent execution of company standards, schedules, safety protocols, and quality expectations across all seasonal operations
- Serve as a key leader for Division Managers, Foremen/Crew Leaders, and administrative staff
- Provide leadership support during snow and ice events, including real-time decision-making and escalation management
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement
- Assist and contribute in the development and delivery of training programs that enhance employee skills, professional growth, and company-wide efficiency
- Execute company objectives under the strategic direction of the Owner
- Drive operational efficiency through the creation, implementation, and refinement of scalable systems (e.g., purchasing, inventory control, equipment utilization, scheduling, and workflow processes)
- Oversee seasonal workforce planning to support peak landscaping and winter snow operations
- Monitor financial performance, job costing, margins, and operational KPIs year-round
- Collaborate with ownership on budgeting, forecasting, and growth planning
- Provide hands-on estimating support across maintenance, enhancement, construction, and snow & ice services
- Review bids, pricing strategies, scopes of work, and production assumptions
- Ensure estimates align with operational capabilities, seasonal realities, and profitability targets
- Utilize Aspire CRM to manage workflows related to estimating, job costing, scheduling, and reporting across all divisions
- Ensure accurate data entry, reporting, and adoption of CRM best practices company-wide
- Support client retention efforts, including responsiveness during snow events and weather-driven service needs
- Lead and support sales and business development efforts by building trusted client partnerships, identifying growth opportunities within existing accounts, and expanding the company’s market presence across all service lines.
