MPL Underwriter — 5+ years experience

Join an exciting and inclusive work environment where your work matters. Business Risk Partners has a renewal underwriting position open and are looking to hire as soon as we can. Business Risk Partners is a Program Administrator and Managing General Underwriting Agency focused on providing specialty commercial liability coverage for clients through a national network of Agent and Brokers. Located in Windsor, Connecticut, BRP was founded in 2000 to provide specialty commercial liability coverage to middle market clients.

BRP currently has a staff of 40 employees focused on marketing, underwriting and administration.

• Review, analyze, underwrite and negotiate coverage for new and renewal business accounts nationally.
• Evaluate accounts, apply terms and price selection
• Underwrite within established program guidelines and/or underwriting authority
• Document files that reflect a solid thought process and decision making through comprehensive account reviews, sign-offs, and referrals.

• 5+ years of multi-line MPL underwriting experience
• Solid analytical skills and experience qualifying risks
• Understanding of insurance terms and the application questions
• A strong work ethic, well-organized, and self-motivated along with ability to work with minimal supervision
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet aggressive goals
• Have a customer-oriented mindset, with strong broker relationships, and commitment to accountability
• Team-player attitude and entrepreneurial spirit
• Four-year college degree preferred
• Proficiency in MS Office including Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel

Salary commensurate with experience.

Pursuant to Connecticut regulation, the compensation range for this position is as stated and includes eligibility for performance-based bonuses.

Connecticut Pay Range: $80,000 USD - $110,000 USD
