Town of Windsor - Summer Health Department Aide Intern
The Town of Windsor Health Department is currently accepting applications for a current undergrad/graduate student actively pursuing their degree in the public health field to work 32 hours a week from May thru August in the Environmental Health division.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Assists in the sorting, collating and compiling of materials; maintaining files and keeping simple records
- Organizes, scans, and archives files and records for the department (strong Microsoft Excel skills a plus)
- Works in the code enforcement division, inspecting problem properties, mosquito control larviciding, and program development, while under the direction of the Code Enforcement Inspector and Health Inspectors
- Participates in projects that are administered by the Health Director and Public Health Nurse throughout the summer
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills with both clients as well as other staff members
- Ability to understand and follow oral and/or written instructions; learn assigned tasks readily; and, adhere to office routines
- Focused on pursuing a career in the public health field
- Undergraduate or Graduate student actively pursuing their degree in the public health field
- The 32 hours for this position are during 8:00am to 5:00pm – Monday thru Friday
- The hourly rate for this position is $17.50
Successful candidates will be subject to the Town of Windsor background screening process, which includes a criminal background check for candidates 18 years of age and older, a motor vehicle check, and a pre-employment drug screen (includes screening for marijuana).
