Secretary 2 (ASL/English Bilingual)(Hybrid)
Connecticut Department of Administrative Services invites applications for the Secretary 2 (ASL/English Bilingual)(Hybrid) position.
Location: Windsor, CT
Schedule: Monday – Friday;
Full-time, 40 hours per week, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (First Shift)
Hybrid: On-site and Remote
Salary: $55,248 – $72,247 per year
Position Highlights- Support a team dedicated to improving access for individuals who are deaf, Deaf Blind, and hard of hearing.
- Serve as a communication bridge by professionally and effectively communicating in both American Sign Language (ASL) and English.
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.

- Facilitate seamless communication between staff and external stakeholders using fluency in ASL and English.
- Draft, edit, and proofread reports, meeting minutes, and professional correspondence.
- Organize and manage meetings, schedules, and office procedures.
- Coordinate travel arrangements and prepare expense accounts.
- Three (3) years of experience above the routine clerk level in office support or secretarial work.
- One (1) year of the General Experience must have been as a Secretary 1 or its equivalent.
- College training in the secretarial sciences may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equaling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of two (2) years.
- Bilingual in American Sign Language (ASL) and English, with experience communicating across both languages in professional settings.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams, including scheduling and virtual meetings.
- Experience in note taking and drafting meeting minutes.
- Experience compiling and analyzing data.
