Resident Engineer

Position Title: Resident Engineer

Job Description

Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract Resident Engineer opportunity.

Job Responsibilities
  • Oversight of supplier design and delivery of fuel handling and cover gas equipment from requirements through final design and delivery of equipment to the site.
  • Support design, fabrication, construction, and testing of systems and equipment.
  • Coordinate and oversee design and fabrication work by suppliers, including regular on-site support at our client in Loveland, CO.
  • Identify and ensure effective application of design codes such as ASME, ANS, ASTM, ASHRAE, IEEE, NFPA, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews.
  • Propose and define testing programs. Provide support and oversight during test execution, evaluation of test results, and reporting of test results.
  • Act in a Project Management capacity for supplier performance management and oversight.
  • Apply classic project management tools to oversee suppliers, including cost, schedule, submittal oversight, and resources.
  • Coordinate supplier deliverables and ensure thorough and timely review, both individually and through delegation.
  • Manage the submittal process between the Supplier and Company.
  • Provide support to contract administration and commercial activities as needed.
  • Generate and maintain Statements of Work.
  • Execute project planning to meet program objectives.
Job Qualifications
  • Education:

    B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred. Other engineering disciplines may be considered if the candidate has relevant experience. M.S. and Doctorate degrees may be credited for up to two and four years of experience, respectively.
  • A minimum of five years of mechanical design experience.
  • PMP certification preferred or equivalent training.
  • Manufacturing oversight experience.
  • Understanding of fabrication travelers, welding, piping systems, and other similar manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in defining supplier work scope to include development of SOWs, RFPs, and providing direction and oversight of supplier projects is required.
  • Demonstrated skills in supporting contractual/commercial aspects of customer/supplier relationships.
  • Excellent technical writing, documentation, and communication skills.
  • A successful candidate must possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly, and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.
  • The ideal candidate will possess nuclear industry experience working under an ASME NQA-1 quality program.
  • Experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III or Section VIII is a plus.
  • Actual position, starting level, and title will be determined based on assessment of qualifications.
  • Travel Required:

    Up to 15%.
