Position Summary
Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Colorado seeks a responsible and hardworking individual to assist in the lunch room during grammar and upper school lunches. The Lunch and Kitchen Aide supports daily food service operations to ensure students receive meals in a clean, safe, and organized environment. This role is critical in upholding the standards of a classical charter school by maintaining a respectful and orderly lunch period that reflects the school's culture of virtue, responsibility, and attentiveness.
EssentialDuties And Responsibilities
- Set up and clean kitchen and lunchroom areas before and after service, including tables, trays, utensils, and equipment.
- Monitor student behavior during lunch to maintain a calm and orderly environment, consistent with the school's classical values and behavioral expectations.
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations and school procedures.
- Assist in organizing and storing food and supplies safely.
- Support other lunchroom or school duties as assigned by supervisors.
- Organizing lunches by name and grade and having them ready for students.
- Assisting students with questions regarding lunches.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience in food service or working with children is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Demonstrated punctuality, dependability, and attention to cleanliness.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a cheerful and professional attitude.
- Commitment to the mission and philosophy of classical education.
- Ability to enforce school rules and policies fairly and consistently.
- Basic first aid knowledge and the ability to respond to emergencies.

- Demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance by adhering to assigned work hours, reporting on time, and following proper procedures for absences or tardiness to ensure minimal disruption to students, colleagues, and school operations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, and supervise students for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
