Humanities Teaching Position for
St. John Paul II High School is a Catholic Classical High School. Its teachers and staff members are devoted, practicing Catholics who are faithful to the Magisterium and infuse their work with the teachings of the Church. Teaches courses critical to the school's liberal arts curriculum including a four-year sequence of history and literature studies. Also teaches courses in Composition, Logic, Rhetoric, and Philosophy. The school's integrated approach to the curriculum is demanding of teachers as well as students and promotes students' growth in content knowledge and critical thinking.
Primary Duties- Carry out the mission of forming mature Catholic men and women.
- Maintain professional demeanor and conduct at all times with students.
- Write and submit a course syllabus.
- Write and submit bi-weekly lesson plans.
- Record grades frequently.
- Maintain communication with parents concerning academic progress and conduct.
- Develop and enforce classroom standards of conduct and academic performance.
- Use constructive classroom management techniques.
- Adherence to the teachings of the Magisterium
- Catholic lifestyle which provides a constructive example to students
- Bachelor's Degree in an area of the humanities and liberal arts
- Master's Degree in an area related to the humanities and liberal arts
- Two years of teaching experience
- Ability to teach in more than one academic subject area
