Full-Time, permanent, 5-days a week; and some additional hours which may include Saturdays, and holidays, depending on workload and priorities. Must be willing and able to support after hours calls as needed.

Position Summary

The Grower Liaison is a key relationship-focused role responsible for managing and strengthening partnerships with existing growers while identifying and onboarding new growers aligned with Mucci Farms’ quality, food safety, and production standards.

Acting as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact, the Grower Liaison works closely with growers and internal teams to support consistent supply, high-quality production, accurate forecasting, and continuous improvement from greenhouse through packaging.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • This position serves as a liaison between the company and its growers
  • The Grower Liaison is responsible for developing and maintaining positive relationships with all growers that ship produce to Mucci International Marketing Inc.
  • Initiate and develop a working relationship with all growers that ship produce to Mucci International Marketing Inc.
  • Working in unison with the grower, providing consultation on best horticulture practices including food safety, crop evaluation, harvest projections, and quality assurance (from Greenhouse to packaging)
  • Assist growers with recommendations of plant varieties
  • Develop and execute a system that will provide daily feedback to individual growers on fruit quality and methods to increase quality, when applicable
  • Assist in the optimal utilization of the Mucci packing facility by providing the commodity Planners with timely and accurate harvest projections that, at a minimum, should include information related to varieties, volume, quality and timing
  • Develop a grower base to Support the required Sales Demands by commodity, quality and varieties in Canada, USA and Mexico
  • Maintain a grower database with all pertinent information for current use and historical purposes
  • Develop and execute grower contracts to fulfill requirements for volume and quality for defined Customer specifications
  • Support after hours business needs by being available for on-call support as the business needs
Specific Activities
  • Search / Hunt for growers in Canada and Mexico
  • Communicate all Quality issues with growers and offer assistance to help with issue(s)
  • Forecasting weekly projections from growers and updating the planning sheets
  • Ensure growers are using the Ifoods forecasting tool
  • Packaging Plan - Plan accordingly and Ensure growers are achieving and meeting their agreed weekly volumes
  • Regular Grower Visits
  • Grower performance tracking - week to week forecast projections
  • Communication of quality issues to growers
  • Work closely with Commodity planners, Sales, Quality and Production Teams
  • Attend various shows throughout the year
  • Attend Mucci Farms planning session
  • Assist procurement team with intown purchases from Growers
Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Completion of post-secondary education is strongly preferred
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • 2+ years of grower relations and/or produce management experience
  • Self-farming or farm management background is an asset

    Knowledge of tomato, cucumber, peppers production is preferred
  • Must be able to communicate in a clear and concise manner in English (written and verbal)
  • Being able to communicate in other languages, (Spanish) would strongly be preferred
  • Proven ability to motivate and influence those that are not direct reports in a positive manner
  • Proven ability to present information to internal/external customers as well…
