Summer Student – Public Operations

Reporting to the Public Works Supervisor, the Public Operations Summer Student is responsible for performing general maintenance duties at municipal parks, beaches and outdoor sporting fields.

• Must be at least 16 years of age by May 1, 2026.
• Must be in full-time attendance at a Secondary School, University or Community College recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Education and returning to school in September 2026.
• Have and maintain a valid G2 or G driver’s licence.
• Heavy lifting may be required at times.
• Experience operating handheld tools and lawn maintenance equipment, including tractors and related equipment.

• 40 hours per week.
• Evening and weekend shifts may be required.
• Working outside in various weather conditions.

$18.36 per hour first year student.

$20.40 per hour returning student.
