Client Relationship Manager Canadian Commercial Banking (18 month Contract) – Windsor, Ontario

Target start date:
January 2026

Contract length: 18 months

Reporting relationship:
Reports into the Market Vice President

Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of Canadian Commercial Banking by ensuring individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed/delivered in support of team business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities are compliant with regulations, policies, and procedures.

The CRM possesses a strong understanding of financial products and services and focuses on delivering the full bank offering and driving primacy in relationships with clients. Responsibilities include identifying prospects in target markets and managing a client portfolio of standard to moderate complexity, developing robust sales pipelines, engaging in client planning activities, and qualifying opportunities based on client needs and due diligence.

  • Champion a customer‑focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader bank relationship systems and knowledge.
  • Promote the development and profitable growth of the Canadian Commercial Banking portfolio in the assigned market area by:
    • Developing and implementing a marketing strategy to maximize business‑development opportunities for sustainable growth within the bank’s risk appetite.
    • Developing sales plans for prospects and existing clients.
    • Identifying prospects/referrals from internal and external networks.
    • Analyzing prospect lists and prioritizing opportunities based on market data and customer analytics.
    • Partnering with internal stakeholders for non‑credit related products.
    • Referring clients and prospects to the appropriate Canadian Commercial Banking segment and partners.
  • Pursue a business‑development program in the assigned market area according to agreed growth objectives by:
    • Driving client primacy through sales of credit and non‑credit commercial products.
    • Maintaining an appropriate ongoing sales pipeline and calling program.
    • Facilitating involvement of key bank resources and stakeholders.
    • Maintaining effective follow‑up with prospects/referrals on any unsuccessful opportunities.
    • Updating client/contact information accurately.
    • Leveraging technology and data (e.g., Customer 360 dashboard, Salesforce) to make informed decisions.
  • Build and maintain a market profile in the assigned area by:
    • Planning and completing relationship activities that generate sales opportunities or provide value to clients.
    • Building awareness of local market and economic conditions.
    • Meeting with business leaders and key community contacts.
    • Participating in local professional and community events and associations.
    • Liaising with bank product specialists to stay abreast of new enhancements.
  • Ensure all assigned relationships receive ongoing attention to maintain, improve, grow, and retain them by:
    • Partnering with Credit Solutions Associate and Client Service Specialist as a team.
    • Including the Cash Management Contact Centre when needed.
    • Partnering with Service team for satisfactory onboarding.
    • Using knowledge of streamlined products, simplified credit application, standardized pricing, and underwriting.
    • Seeking customer feedback and acting on suggestions for improvement.
  • Partner with Credit Solution Associate on credit portfolio for authorizations up to $5M by:
    • Completing credit discussion papers timely and detailed.
    • Collaborating to optimize lending structure and provide support through origination and review.
    • Ensuring documentation is prepared before client engagement.
    • Identifying problem loans and recommending actions to risk management.
  • Champion sustainment of the operating model by taking ownership of activities and ensuring adherence to guidelines and processes.
