Vehicle Dynamics Engineer – Driving Simulator

Overview
The role is based onsite at our client in Windsor, ON. The Engineer will support next-generation vehicle development through advanced Driving Simulator‑based ride & handling evaluations and influence how future vehicles feel on the road.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain the Driving Simulator for development teams

Support suspension & steering kinematics and compliance optimization

Provide subjective & objective vehicle dynamics assessments when needed

Develop SOPs, tools, and methods to enhance simulator usage

Analyze results and present findings to engineering leadership

Collaborate closely with other vehicle dynamics and product development functions

Qualifications
Essential:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Aerospace Engineering (ABET accredited or equivalent)

3+ years of vehicle dynamics simulation experience – preference for ADAMS/Car or Car Sim

Experience with Matlab, Simulink, Python or similar tools for automated analysis

Hands‑on knowledge of suspension & steering kinematics, compliance, ride, and handling

Solid understanding of vehicle dynamics theory & application

Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams

Preferred:

Master's degree (Mechanical/Automotive/Aerospace)

Experience in a Driving Simulator environment

Familiarity with VI Car Realtime, VI Drive Sim, and Sim Workbench

Strong analytical ability to translate complex test data into executive‑level insights

Experience developing objective test methods and metrics

Excellent troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
