Qualifications   Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
P.Eng designation (or eligibility for registration) strongly preferred.
8+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a lead or senior role
Proven experience in industrial, commercial, and institutional project environments.
Experience working in a consulting engineering environment.
Strong background in electrical distribution systems design and studies.
Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D/3D), Revit and BIM 360
Familiarity with electrical modelling software (eg, SKM, ETAP) is considered an asset.
Familiarity with lighting analysis using AFi
32, with the ability to prepare accurate photometric studies, is considered an asset.
Knowledge of instrumentation and control systems, with proven ability to generate loop drawings, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts from P&IDs is considered an asset.
High level of professional discipline and self-motivation, sincerity and strong communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others.
Demonstrated ability to manage numerous issues and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated team leadership and construction project management experience.
Demonstrated planning, organizational, interpersonal skills and leadership.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Able to communicate ideas and recommendations to non-engineer team members in a clear manner
Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and programs required
Necessary Requirements for Applicants   Hold a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
Responsibilities and Duties  The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for, but not limited to the following:
Technical Leadership & Design Oversight   Lead and validate the design and development of electrical systems (power distribution, protection schemes, controls, lighting, and low voltage systems), including SLDs, panel schedules, and load calculations.
Lead and execute electrical studies (eg, Arc Flash, short-circuit, protective device coordination) as per application standards (NFAP 70E, IEEE 1584, OSHA, CSA Z462), and proven experience in preparing clear, detailed arc flash study reports for industrial, commercial and utility clients.
Provide technical direction and ensure compliance with OESC, ESA, CSA, NFPA, ASHRAE 90.1, IES and other relevant standards.
Conduct and/or supervise quality assurance review of drawings, studies, and reports before submission to clients.
Project & Client Management   Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients and consultants.
Lead project meetings, ensuring client requirements are clearly understood and delivered.
Support business development by preparing proposals, cost estimates, and technical reports.
Construction & Field Leadership   Oversee field investigations, data collection, and verification activities.
Lead construction administration, including contractor coordination, system start-up, commissioning and project closeout.
Ensure quality assurance and safety standards are met on all project sites.
Mentor and coach intermediate and junior electrical engineers and designers.
Provide guidance on best practices in electrical engineering, design software, and project delivery.
