Responsibilities Work as part of a high-quality, client-focused MEP engineering team across diverse market sectors
Lead and manage electrical engineering projects from initial design through construction and on-site contract administration
Design electrical building systems for residential, educational, commercial, industrial, and healthcare projects
Prepare complete electrical working drawings, construction details, and specifications within a BIM environment
Coordinate electrical design with architectural, structural, mechanical (HVAC), and plumbing systems
Provide technical expertise in electrical design, building science, and construction detailing
Perform lighting design, photometric analysis, load calculations, and support building management system integration
Apply relevant codes and standards, including the Ontario Building Code, Ontario Electrical Safety Code, IEEE, and NFPA
Conduct site reviews, assess compliance with drawings and specifications, and prepare field reports
Review and check work for quality, accuracy, and completeness while managing schedules and project budgets
Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced, supportive environment
Support continuous learning and contribute to the firm’s growth, with the opportunity to advance into a senior leadership role
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario, in good standing
5+ years of experience in electrical analysis and building systems design (new and retrofit), preferably in a consulting environment
Advanced proficiency in Revit, BIM, and AutoCAD (latest editions)
Experience producing high-quality 2D drawings and 3D models within a BIM workflow
Proficiency with electrical design and analysis software, including load calculation tools, IEEE standards, and Dialux
Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards (OBC, OESC, NFPA)
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Solid understanding of all phases of project documentation and the relationship between drawings and specifications
Familiarity with photometrics, lighting design, product specifications, and building management systems
Knowledge of green building design, energy modelling, and energy auditing considered an asset
Field experience conducting construction reviews and contract administration
Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team
Strong commitment to quality, client service, and technical excellence
