With our Headquarters in Windsor, Canada and Michigan, USA, Humber Automated Systems offers specialized controls systems design, electrical controls & blueprint design, PLC & robotics controls design and startup integration. We take the project from design and blueprints through to startup integration and material launch.
The ideal engineer is methodical and perseverant when faced with new technologies and challenges. Technical problem solving in controls, electrical, pneumatic and mechanical systems is part of your fundamental training at school and or in any previous job experience. Based in our Windsor or London, Canada location, you will work with other team members to solve engineering challenges and implement new technologies within the industrial automation field using controls systems and robotic systems.

Responsibilities
Design and implement PLC based control systems and edit, debug and troubleshoot PLCs
Provide technical assistance during and after installation of automation cells focusing on Electrical Control Systems, Electrical Blueprints, Tag verification, PLC & robotics checks
Systems integration; safety PLC, robotics, electronics & network start‑up and commissioning of turn‑key automated cells
Modification of PLC & robotic programming for performance improvements, including throughput and cycle time enhancement of existing systems through detailed analysis and reporting
Assist plant production
Required Education, Experience & Skills
Technician / Technologist diploma in a related field – electrical, mechanical, software engineering
Ability to read electrical & pneumatic schematics and verify connections
Knowledge of controls systems theory and PLC controls. Allen‑Bradley PLCs & Siemens HMIs
Programming ladder logic & HMI for cell, cylinder tooling, robotics and conveyor control
Troubleshooting communication networks using Device Net & Ethernet‑IP technologies
Effective and comfortable in team‑oriented environments
Effective independent and self‑started attitude
Flexible when faced with dynamic engineering challenges
Ability to work & travel to USA & Canada
Preferred Additional Experience & Skills
5 years of controls systems and commissioning experience
General Motors GCCS & GCCH certifications
Electrical CAD design (EPlan P‑8)
Proven leadership skills working in a team environment
Strong customer service attitude
Hours
40 – 60 hours per week
Overtime after 40 hours
