, a division of Adept Ag, specializes in advanced environmental control systems supporting greenhouse and agricultural operations across North America. Our Kingsville team plays a key role in maintaining operational excellence and financial accuracy.
The Accounting Assistant supports daily financial and inventory operations while maintaining accurate records across multiple systems. Working closely with the Controller and Finance team, this role contributes to reporting, reconciliation, invoicing, and operational accounting processes.
This position requires strong attention to detail, sound organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, multi‑system environment.
Key Responsibilities Inventory Accounting and Operational Support- Assist with inventory tracking, including purchase orders, pricing lists, and system updates
- Enter and maintain accurate inventory data across accounting and operational systems
- Verify inventory‑related documentation and ensure record accuracy
- Support inventory reconciliations and assist in resolving discrepancies
- Collaborate with operations, purchasing, and warehouse teams to maintain inventory accuracy
- Maintain pricing accuracy and update system records as required
- Assist with accounts payable processing, including verifying and entering vendor invoices
- Support accounts receivable functions, including invoice tracking and payment application
- Prepare and issue customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate records of vendor payments and customer accounts
- Assist with vendor and customer account reconciliations
- Communicate with internal departments and external vendors to resolve discrepancies
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and year‑end financial reports and supporting documentation
- Support month‑end and year‑end close processes
Compile routine financial, statistical, and operational reports - Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies or irregularities
- Research and resolve accounting issues in a timely manner
- Maintain organized, compliant, and accurate accounting records
- Ensure adherence to company accounting policies and applicable standards
- Provide clerical and administrative support to the Finance team
- Maintain accounting files, records, and documentation
- Interpret and apply accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain strict confidentiality of financial and company information
- Assist with audits, reporting requirements, and compliance documentation
- Support finance process improvements and system updates
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Controller or Finance leadership
- College or university degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 1–3 years of hands‑on accounting or finance experience preferred
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and inventory accounting
- Experience in operational, inventory‑driven, or multi‑location environments considered an asset
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience with ERP systems such as Sage Intacct, Service Fusion, or similar platforms preferred
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Working knowledge of inventory controls, tracking, and costing
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills
- Analytical and problem‑solving abilities
- Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Professional discretion in handling confidential financial information
