SWIM Instructors AND Lifeguards- Position

Swim Instructors

$17.25 /Hour Starting salary depends on prior experience.

Swim Instructors plan and implement classes for all levels of swimming. This position is suited for those who love to work with children and have knowledge of aquatic skills. To qualify, the applicant must be able and willing to instruct all levels of the Town of Windsor Youth Swim Programs. Certifications in Water Safety Instructor (WSI), Standard First Aid and CPR are desirable.

Certified WSI applicants may be eligible to start at a higher wage step. Previous work experience in lesson instruction may take the place of WSI certification, depending upon level and length of experience.

$19.60 /Hour Starting salary depends on prior experience.

Lifeguards are required to maintain a vigilant watch over pool patrons, who are comprised of older adults (age 55+) and youth (during youth swim lessons). Additional duties required may be attending to persons in distress, rendering first aid as needed and maintenance of pool, deck and/or locker room. Current certifications in Standard First Aid, CPR Professional Rescuer and Lifeguard Training are required.

Approximate total hours per week are 15-20, shifts vary.

A completed Town of Windsor application is required in order to be considered for these positions. Resumes will not be accepted without an application. Applications for both Lifeguard and Swim Instructor will be screened and those considered best qualified will be invited to participate in an interview. Applicants can apply while obtaining certification but successful course completion is necessary before employment. A background and fingerprint check will be completed before date of hire. Positions are open until filled.
