Overview

Position Description Ryder is hiring a Permanent Full Time Pallet Inspector at our warehouse manufacturing facility in Windsor Locks, Connecticut.

Warehouse, Manufacturing and Repair positions pay weekly.
Hourly pay: $20.00 per hour.

Schedule:

First/Mid Shift Monday - Friday 12:00 pm - 8:30 pm.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 1 to 2 years or more in Carpentry, Manufacturing environment preferred
• Ability to comprehend basic math
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work within a diverse work environment
• Highly thorough and dependable
• Must be punctual and have a good attendance record
• Performs work independently with minimal supervision
• Possesses a high degree of initiative
• Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure

• Operate power equipment in a safe manner
• Lift and/or push/pull up to 50 lbs
• Twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis
• Use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements
• Work at a steady, fast pace while kneeling and/or twisting
• Capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8-hour day)

• Pallet Inspector/Palamatic Operator:
  Safely and securely inspect pallets at a rate that meets company standards and safety requirements
• Manually lift 70 lb pallets from a stack to a rolling line; lift pallets for inspection and separation using the palamatic machine
• Quality:
  Ensure proper inspection and separation
• Inventory:
  Conduct physical inventories as required
• Safety and Security:
  Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area; assist in maintaining warehouse security; comply with OSHA and MSDS standards; wear all safety equipment while repairing pallets
• Performs duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
• Performs other duties as assigned
