Overview
Position Description Ryder is immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Pallet Inspector at our warehouse manufacturing facility in Windsor Locks, Connecticut.
Warehouse, Manufacturing and Repair positions pay Weekly.
Schedule:
First Shift Monday - Friday 10:00am-6:30pm.
- Pallet Inspector/Palamatic Operator:
Safely and securely inspect pallets at a rate that meets company standards and in a manner that meets company safety standards. - Manually lift 70 lb pallets from a stack to a rolling line; in addition lift the pallets for inspection and separation utilizing the Palamatic machine.
- Quality:
Ensure that proper inspection and separation is met. - Inventory:
Conduct physical inventories as required. - Safety and Security:
Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety. Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards. Must wear all safety equipment while repairing pallets. - Performs duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract. Performs other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1 to 2 years or more in carpentry, manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to comprehend basic math.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work within a diverse work environment.
- Highly thorough and dependable; punctual with good attendance.
- Performs work independently with minimal supervision; possesses a high degree of initiative; demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team; be a team player; create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization.
- Operate power equipment in a safe manner; lift and/or push/pull up to 50 lbs; twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis; use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements; work at a steady, fast pace while kneeling and/or twisting.
- Capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8-hour day).
Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
