Summary
Responsible for the installation, assembly, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial, and multi-family projects; ensures systems are installed according to NFPA standards, project specifications, and company quality and safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Install, assemble, and maintain fire sprinkler piping, fittings, and devices according to plans and specifications
- Cut, thread, bend, and join pipes using hand and power tools
- Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Assist with pressure testing, flushing, and commissioning of sprinkler systems
- Coordinate with foremen, other trades, and field personnel to ensure project schedule adherence
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition
- Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies
- Participate in safety meetings and ongoing training
High school diploma and 1–5 years of experience in fire sprinkler installation or pipe fitting; knowledge of fire sprinkler installation practices and NFPA standards; ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints; strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on skills; NICET certification or trade‑related training preferred.
Computer SkillsMicrosoft Office applications, word, email.
Physical DemandsField-based role at active construction and retrofit sites; requires endurance for extended periods of repetitive movements and moderate physical exertion; frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching; ability to climb ladders, stairs, or scaffolding and working at heights as needed; manual dexterity to operate tools and equipment; good visual and auditory acuity to safely handle inventory, read labels, and follow instructions;
work in confined spaces and variable weather conditions; ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly; exposure to noise, dust, and construction environments; ability to tolerate working in varying environmental conditions, including temperature fluctuations; overtime may be required.
