Immediate opening for a SOLO Class A CDL Truck Driver. Join us at Ryder in Winchester, VA.
Position DescriptionWe are looking for a reliable, experienced solo driver with a Class A CDL. The role involves solo freight delivery to several states (MI, WI, KS, PA, NJ, NY, SC, NC, OH, FL, IN, KY, TN, GA). You will be driving a 53’ dry van or curtain side trailer, with a tractor type sleeper, delivering touch molding and building products.
Pay and Bonuses- $1,650 per week, with opportunity to earn more based on mileage.
- Solo mileage pay: $0.55 per mile for 2,500‑3,000 miles per week.
- Solo stops pay: $19.05 per stop for 3‑7 stops per week.
- Nights out: 3‑4 times per week.
- Safety bonus: $500 quarterly.
- Sign‑on bonus: $1,500 after 30 days and $1,500 after 90 days.
- Paid training.
- Schedule:
Sunday‑Friday, AM dispatch start. - Trucks are 36 months or newer; full roadside maintenance and 24/7 support.
- Paid personal time off: 80 hours earned in first year, accrues from Day 1.

- Minimum 21 years of age.
- Pass a Ryder drug test, background and motor‑vehicle check, and DOT physical.
- Pass a Ryder road test.
- Valid Class A CDL with the necessary endorsements.
- Class A verifiable experience:
- At least 9 months in the past 3 years, OR
- At least 2 years in the past 5 years, OR
- At least 5 years in the past 10 years.
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
- Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and agency standards.
- Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards; maintain accurate records and logs.
- Load/unload freight or assist with loading/unloading as required by customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
