Frederick County Parks & Recreation is seeking an enthusiastic, dependable Assistant Running Club Coach to support our Youth Running Club Program for ages 7–14. This part-time role is perfect for an entry-level professional who’s passionate about fitness, teamwork, and helping young runners build confidence while having fun.

Spring Running Club
April – June | Tuesday & Thursday – 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Fall Running Club
August – October | Twice a Week – 1hr during the evening hours
Key ResponsibilitiesAs an Assistant Running Club Coach, you will:
- Assist the Coach with age-appropriate running practices, including warm-ups, drills, training activities, and cool-downs.
- Help lead games and recreational activities that keep participants motivated and engaged.
- Support a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment for all youth participants.
- Communicate effectively with youth, parents/guardians, the Coach, and Program Supervisor.
- Follow established safety guidelines to ensure participant well-being during practices and events.
- Help set up, carry, and organize equipment as needed.
- Entry-level position, no prior experience required.
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
- Strong customer service skills and passion for running, fitness, and youth development.
- Willingness to work outdoors twice a week during the evening hours.
- Ability to actively participate in practices, including jogging, sprinting, bending, and demonstrating drills.
