Overview

Through proactive outreach, market intelligence, and disciplined pursuit management, the position directly supports Shockey’s volume and profitability objectives.
Responsibilities- Develops a program for effectively prospecting and establishing relationships of trust and confidence with owners, developers, engineers, architects, and local/state officials. Identifies, researches, and qualifies specific geographic sectors, product sectors and clients.
- Focuses on daily prospecting and visitation through predetermined and scheduled appointments, in addition to cold calling of prospects.
- Maintains a general knowledge of zoning and site plan permit applications and/or approvals.
- Serves as a representative for the company at select governmental, civic and association meetings, trade shows, and events.
- Updates CRM system on a continuous basis, including contacts and project leads.
- Reviews potential projects with supervisor to assure that they are within the company’s goals, interests, capabilities, and scheduling limitations. Provides a summary of financial return, risks, manpower and skills, and other facilities and resources required, through established go – no go analysis (tempered with subjective factors).
- Coordinates the response to clients and architects requests for qualifications and proposals in a timely, accurate, and positive manner.
- Assists marketing team with the review of all proposal and presentation requirements for the satisfactory development and securing of new business. Assists in the review of specifications, drawings and estimates.
- Meets or exceeds those sales and initial profit goals established for the assigned market.
- Identifies key alliances with major subcontractors and suppliers.
- Identifies and seeks referrals of potential new employees.
- Presents Shockey to potential clients in introductory settings, project planning sessions, and interviews.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) from a four-year college or university and five to ten years of experience in general business marketing and supervision, or acceptable combination of education and experience.
- This position requires a comprehensive knowledge of the capabilities and interests of the company being represented, sales technique practices, procedures, verbal presentation techniques, persuasion techniques, and a general knowledge of public relations, the ability to listen well, and to maintain a presentable appearance.
- This position requires a high degree of human relations skills, a strong work ethic with high self-motivation, and a willingness to travel. This position also requires that the individual work effectively and efficiently with limited direct supervision for extended periods of time.
