Registered Nurse - Mother Baby - Full Time
Valley Health welcomes applications for the Registered Nurse - Mother Baby - Full Time position.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize nursing skills to carry out the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, evaluation, documentation and time management.
- Ensure quality communication, teamwork and leadership/professionalism.
- Direct, coordinate, and implement patient teaching, quality/safety initiatives, and activities of other health team personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards.
- Assume responsibility as Charge Nurse, PI Activity and department initiatives, communicate and share information to Director/Designee and co‑workers from unit or hospital committee, Valley Health paid Education/Seminar/Conference workshop or Nursing Article. Portfolio is current and submitted annually by March 1.
- Solicit and validate patient/family satisfaction, participate in peer review for unit, develop educational poster/bulletin board for staff/patients/family members.
Qualifications:
- Meets all requirements of a RN I.
- Competent to provide care based on cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological stages of human growth and development.
- Competent to provide care using the nursing process.
- Reliable means of phone communication with the hospital.
Education:
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing (RN Diploma, ASN or ADN) is required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 1872 full‑time or part‑time hours (936 if holding BSN) of RN experience and completion of a performance evaluation.
Certification & Licensure:
- RN License is required (Virginia board; multi‑state or single‑state license).
- BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required. New hires must have American Heart Association certification prior to orientation.
- Relevant Specialty Certification is preferred.
