The registered professional nurse is responsible for utilizing job skills to effectively carry out the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, evaluation, documentation, and time management. The RN also ensures quality communication, teamwork, and leadership/professionalism. Additionally, the RN directs, coordinates, and implements patient teaching and quality/safety initiatives while overseeing other health team personnel and maintaining professional nursing standards.

Education:

Associate’s Nursing (RN Diploma, ASN or ADN) required. Bachelor’s Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Experience:

Minimum two years of RN experience required.

Certification & Licensure:
Registered Nurse License required; must be licensed or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia under Virginia Board of Nursing regulations. BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) – American Heart “Healthcare Provider” (HCP) – AHA approved required. New hires must have AHA certification before orientation. Relevant specialty certification preferred.
