Medical Equipment Technician – Delivery Driver
Adapt Health is seeking a Medical Equipment Technician – Delivery Driver who will ensure safe delivery, provide setup, and educate patients on home medical equipment usage. The successful candidate will support patients in homes, long‑term care settings, clinics, and other required locations.

Job Duties- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of current HME products and services offered by the company and all applicable governmental regulations.
- Comply with all applicable company policies and procedures.
- Educate customers in proper use and care of respiratory and HME equipment in a home setting.
- Complete required documentation following equipment setup, delivery or pickup as required.
- Assist with customer equipment problems under emergency conditions.
- Process all orders in a timely, accurate manner.
- Promote services and products to referral sources in the community as appropriate.
- Develop basic reimbursement knowledge and document all information necessary to ensure reimbursement for all appropriate equipment, products, and services.
- Assist with implementation of quality improvement program to meet company policies.
- Maintain home oxygen systems through regularly scheduled visits to customers.
- Safely drive and maintain company vehicle.
- Perform patient assessment and re‑assessment for patient care.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and simple repairs on equipment as required in accordance with company policies.
- Report equipment hazards and/or product incidents as required in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of and consistently adhere to procedures for the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), infection control and hazardous materials handling.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and function within the guidelines of HIPAA.
- Complete assigned compliance training and other educational programs as required.
- Maintain compliance with Adapt Health’s compliance program.
- Responsible for cleaning equipment when assigned by supervisor or downtime allows, following the Branch Maintenance and Cleaning Guidelines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum
Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalency.
- Entry‑level sales or customer service background essential.
- One (1) year of military, delivery driver with sales component, or health care technology experience is considered related and preferred.
- Senior level requires two (2) years of work‑related experience and one (1) year of exact job experience.
- Valid and unrestricted driver’s license in the state of residence.
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to stretch, bend, stoop, crouch and perform moderate to heavy physical labor while moving equipment and supplies.
- Subject to long periods of sitting and driving.
- Work environment may be stressful at times as work activities and levels fluctuate.
- May be exposed to unsanitary conditions in some home settings.
- May be exposed to hazardous materials, loud noise, extreme heat/cold, direct or indirect contact with airborne, blood borne, and/or other potentially infectious pathogens.
- May be exposed to high crime areas within the service community.
- Must be able to drive independently and travel as needed.
- May be exposed to angry or irate customers.
- Must be able to access the patient’s residence without assistance.
- Mental alertness to perform essential functions.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with customers, demonstrating empathy, compassion, courtesy, and respect for privacy.
