Assistant Professor of Physics

Shenandoah University’s Department of Arts and Sciences is accepting applications for an Assistant Professor of Physics. This is a full-time position located on our main campus in Winchester, Virginia.

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate lectures and labs; supervising student research projects; and providing academic advising for students. The successful candidate will play an active role in shaping and growing a new undergraduate program in engineering and engineering physics.

Faculty members are expected to be active scholars in their fields and to participate in service to the university and the broader community. An on-campus, in-person presence is expected.

• A PhD in physics, applied physics, or engineering physics by the date of appointment; demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching; and evidence of scholarly and professional activities.
• Expertise as an experimentalist is preferred.
