Position summary:

An Assistant Teacher works with the supervising teacher to provide direct care and meet the needs of the children enrolled at the Child Care Center. This role helps maintain a safe and sanitary environment and supports a stimulating atmosphere to aid ongoing development. The program aims to comply with all operational codes and licensing requirements.

• Provide direct care and support to children in the Child Care Center under supervision.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and sanitary environment.
• Support the development and learning of children through engaging activities and ideas.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with licensing requirements and program policies.

• Education in the field of early childhood education is preferred.
• Experience in the field of early childhood education is preferred.
• Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.
• Qualified applicant must be able to perform all duties outlined in the job description and meet minimum licensing standards for licensed childcare centers.
• Sworn Statement or Affirmation for Child Care Program required. Additional Child Abuse Registry background check required for individuals who resided outside the State of Virginia in the past five years based on previous state of residency.
