As a Wet Works / Leak Detection Engineer / Reactive Plumber with Mets Serve LTD, you’ll be responsible for attending reactive plumbing and leak-related callouts, investigating issues, locating the source quickly, and carrying out effective repairs.

Using the latest non-invasive technology – from acoustic listening devices to infrared and tracer gas systems – you’ll pinpoint problems accurately, minimising disruption for our clients. Where required, you’ll then complete the associated wet works / plumbing repair to a high standard.

You’ll prepare clear and detailed reports, communicate findings confidently with customers, and complete necessary repairs professionally and efficiently.

This role offers a great balance of independence and team collaboration – you’ll manage your own workload day-to-day, supported by a close-knit, professional engineering team that takes pride in doing things properly.

• Detect and locate leaks using advanced acoustic, tracer gas, and infrared technologies.
• Attend reactive plumbing jobs including leaks, burst pipes, loss of pressure, and heating / water faults.
• Carry out wet works repairs and remedial plumbing following detection or diagnosis.
• Repair or replace pipework, fittings, valves, cylinders, pumps, and associated systems.
• Maintain and calibrate specialist detection equipment.
• Record and report findings with accuracy and clarity.
• Work safely and professionally on customer premises, upholding Met Serve's high standards of service and safety.

• NVQ level 2 in plumbing and / or heating (or equivalent).
• Proven experience in reactive plumbing, wet works, leak detection, or heating engineering (wet central heating knowledge essential).
• Sound understanding of domestic and commercial pipework systems.
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills with the ability to think on your feet.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• A self-motivated, professional work ethic.
• Full UK driving licence (no more than 6 points).

• Salary :
  Basic Salary DOE + Overtime, Bonus, and On-Call Allowance (OTE £50,000+)
• Hours :
  Monday–Friday, 8 : 30am–5 : 30pm + On Call Rota
• Location :
  Field-based, with regular travel across the region (van provided)
• Contract :
  Full-time, permanent
