Job Details

We are supporting a leading global technology and services organisation delivering critical programmes within the UK defence sector. They are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to take ownership of commercial activities across the full contract lifecycle, supporting high-value and strategically important defence contracts.

This is a key role working closely with delivery, legal, finance, and operational teams to ensure strong commercial governance, effective risk management, and successful contract outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead commercial activities across the full contract lifecycle, including both pre-contract and post-contract (bid through to contract close)
  • Support bid teams with commercial strategy, pricing models, and contractual risk assessment
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial terms and contract amendments
  • Provide commercial governance and oversight to ensure contractual compliance and performance
  • Manage customer relationships from a commercial perspective, supporting contract delivery and issue resolution
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities
  • Support change management, variations, and contract negotiations throughout delivery
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across legal, finance, procurement, and programme delivery
About You
  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior Commercial Manager within defence, government, or regulated sectors
  • Strong experience managing contracts across the full lifecycle (pre- and post-signature)
  • Experience supporting bids, contract negotiation, and in-life contract management
  • Strong understanding of commercial risk, governance, and contract frameworks
  • Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills
  • Ability to operate in complex, highly regulated environments
Requirements
  • Active SC or DV clearance, or eligibility and willingness to obtain clearance
  • Willingness to attend the Hampshire office 1 day per week
