Position: Property Coordinator / Handyman

As a Property Coordinator / Handyman, you’ll be the go‑to person for day‑to‑day maintenance and compliance checks across a group of ARC services—helping colleagues deliver brilliant support by making sure our environments are at their best.

This is a permanent part time role offering 28 hours per week with travel to sites in and around Portsmouth and Bournemouth area. A vehicle will be provided, so the successful candidate will hold a valid UK driving licence based in the Hampshire / Dorset area.

As a Property Coordinator / Handyman, you’ll be a trusted presence across multiple sites, delivering essential compliance checks, maintenance support, and on‑site oversight and delivery of refurbishment and project works. You’ll help keep our environments safe, functional and fit‑for‑purpose—making a real difference every day.

Day To Day You Will
  • Reactive & planned maintenance:
    Complete a variety of tasks with a strong focus on painting and decorating—from full room refreshes to touch‑ups that keep spaces looking great.
  • Compliance checks:
    Confirm that sites are conducting weekly fire alarm and emergency lighting tests; flag issues promptly and accurately.
  • Own your kit:
    Look after tools and equipment, using and storing everything safely; report and responsibly dispose of damaged items.
  • Team connection:
    Be a friendly, professional presence on site—build positive relationships with colleagues and follow local security and emergency procedures.
  • Escalation & reporting:
    Log work completed, and pass anything beyond role scope to the Property Coordinator Team Leader and Facilities Helpdesk.
  • Learn & grow:
    Keep up to date with mandatory training and best practice—especially around Health & Safety, Working at Height, and Infection Prevention & Control.

Our Ideal Candidate Essential Skills & Experience
  • Hands‑on experience in general maintenance; painting/decorating skills a must.
  • A practical, safety‑first approach with great attention to detail.
  • Confidence using battery‑powered/hand tools and following safe systems of work.
  • Clear communication, good record‑keeping, and a collaborative mindset.
  • Flexibility to travel between sites and prioritise workload effectively.
