Important information:
This is an office-based position at our Otterbourne location; remote or home working is not available. The fixed full-time rota is available based on current service needs (see attached). We are welcoming new team members for our upcoming training course in March 2026. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Main duties of the job include participating in a full 6-week training program, including NHS Pathways (the clinical assessment tool we use). After training, you will have the necessary skills to assess patient needs and provide the best possible care. You do not need a medical background but should be detailed, efficient, and able to be assertive yet compassionate. You should look after yourself and support the team around you, contributing professionally to patient care within the wider SCAS team.

Qualifications and TrainingEssential: Good all-round education (i.e. 2 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English), or equivalent demonstrable experience in a similar role. For safeguarding reasons, this role is only open to people aged over 18 years.
Desirable: NHS Pathways Trained; NVQ 2/3 Customer Services or equivalent demonstrable experience.
Knowledge and ExperienceEssential: Experience in a customer/patient services environment, dealing with members of the general public; experience of using a computerised system; experience of using a telephone as a regular means of communication in a work environment.
Desirable: Experience in a call centre environment; geographical knowledge of the operational area; experience of working rotating shifts; previous experience in the voluntary or health sector; previous experience of patient care; knowledge of first aid and/or anatomy.
