Band 3 (Northbrook Children's ward)

Health Care Support work

Part Time - 34.5 hours

An opportunity has arisen for a band 3 Healthcare Support Worker to join the fast‑paced team on the children inpatient ward (Northbrook). If this sounds like you or you are looking for a new challenge we would love to hear from you!

As an integrated service we pride ourselves on delivering health care at the point of need and are one of the few such organised services within the UK.

Northbrook Ward on the Winchester site is an 18‑bedded unit that provides care for children who require admission as an emergency, from the Emergency Department (ED), Sophie’s Place (SP) or GPs. Children may also be booked in for treatment with oncology, orthopaedic, general surgical or medical problems.

At HHFT we offer a full and comprehensive orientation package and professional support suited to your individual needs, alongside ongoing support from the Clinical Education Team, so you can achieve your full potential. We offer dedicated QIS / child learning opportunities, often linked to the wider network, to enhance your continued professional development.

You will be expected to support and work alongside the nursing staff to ensure that high‑quality care is delivered to the children and their families who access our service.

Evidence of excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a rapidly changing environment are essential for the role. Evidence of childcare / nursery nurse training is essential.

It is our responsibility to provide you opportunities and support to develop further skills that will enable you to extend and enhance the role.

We provide specialist services to people across the UK and internationally. We are one of only two centres in the UK treating pseudomyxoma peritonei (a rare form of abdominal cancer) and are leaders in the field of tertiary liver cancer and colorectal cancer.

Happy to talk: flexible working – all requests for flexible and part‑time working will be considered.
