Timber Frame Designer

Overview

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Timber Frame Designer to join our dynamic team on a part-time or full-time basis.

The primary responsibility will be to produce high-quality CAD designs for Domestic and Commercial timber frame buildings, ensuring they meet contract specifications, quality standards, and cost targets. You will primarily work in AutoCAD, collaborating closely with the Operations Manager to produce detailed designs for floor, wall, and roof panels to enable precise manufacturing in our factory using modern methods of construction.

Salary subject to experience.

• Produce high-quality CAD designs for domestic and commercial timber frame buildings, ensuring compliance with contract specifications, quality standards, and cost targets.
• Collaborate with the Operations Manager to develop detailed designs for floor, wall, and roof panels for manufacturing.
• Assist the sales process by developing detailed customer enquiries, including site plans, floor plans, and 3D perspectives to aid visualization and project costing (input from Sales Manager).

• Strong AutoCAD drafting skills
• Experience with timber frame construction
• Knowledge of UK Building Regulations is preferred but not essential (training provided)
• Experience with Revit is beneficial
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across teams

Build strong, collaborative relationships across the business with office staff, customers, sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure seamless project delivery.
