Primary & Secondary Teaching Assistants Winchester
Prospero Teaching is looking for enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistants to support a range of primary and secondary schools in the Winchester area. These roles are perfect for individuals who enjoy working with children and want to make a meaningful contribution to their learning and development.
You will provide a mix of whole-class support, small-group interventions, and 1:1 assistance depending on the needs of each school. Every day brings new challenges, new rewards, and the opportunity to make a genuine difference to young learners.
These positions suit candidates with experience in schools, tutoring, childcare, youth work, support work, or those who are graduates looking to build classroom experience particularly in education, psychology, or child development.
The Role- Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons
- Work with pupils 1:1, in small groups, or across the whole class
- Assist with learning tasks, classroom routines, and behaviour expectations
- Encourage pupils confidence, independence, and social skills
- Help adapt activities and resources under teacher guidance
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
- Support pupils across a range of subjects depending on the school setting
- Experience working with children (school, tutoring, youth work, childcare, etc.)
- Confident, patient, and able to build rapport quickly
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Adaptable to both primary and secondary environments
- Positive role model with a supportive approach
- Graduates in psychology, education, or similar fields welcome
- Keen to gain valuable classroom experience

- Hours:
Full-time/Ongoing - Pay: £14.66 - £15.66 per hour
- Contract:
Long-Term
- Experience working with children desirable
- Safeguarding training required (can be provided)
- School experience beneficial but not essential
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Two professional references
- Free accredited CPD, including behaviour management & safeguarding
