A leading independent prep school in Hampshire is seeking an experienced and passionate Head of History to lead History throughout the school. This is a full time and permanent role from September 2026.

This is a vibrant prep school that delivers a first-class education in a warm, family environment. It has a strong reputation for providing academic excellence, first rate sport and a strong tradition in the arts all within a friendly and caring pastoral system. Pupils are bright, happy and kind with unique talents and interests where staff ensure every child is nurtured and challenged allowing them to reach their full potential.

This role will entail teaching History from Year 5 to Year 8 including Common Entrance and Scholarship and leading the department. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to develop engaging curriculum content for KS3 pupils. They will be passionate about History and able to foster a love of the subject among pupils.

There is also the possibility of being an Assistant Houseparent alongside the Head of History role and there is live out accommodation package with this.
